Hometown Revisited
by
Since recently moving back to my home town of Blackwood, in the Eastern Valleys of South Wales after a thirty year absence I have embarked on an ongoing project to make a record of the area as it is today. This has been prompted by the realisation that change happens so gradually you hardly notice it until suddenly it hits you in the face and you realise places have changed beyond recognition.
I wish I had done more to document the area during my youth when mines and railways predominated in the area but in my defence I was too busy travelling the valleys going from job to job in my work as a newspaper photographer to stop and look at what was around me.
Now I have that time and aim to build on this documentary record over the years to come
